How it was spent

  • Additional support in all classrooms to ensure that all classes have a full time teaching assistant, in addition to a class teacher.
  • Additional staffing to run Literacy, Maths Interventions and Fine motor skills interventions.
  • Nurture groups – Bright Stars (Key Stage 1 and 2) and Happy to be Me (Foundation Stage)
  • Full time therapeutic teacher in school – counselling
  • Additional support for phonics
  • Daily lunchtime nurture group
  • Funding to pay school trips for families with financial hardship
  • Art Therapy for the most vulnerable children
  • Sports bursaries
  • Extra curricular activities

How did it make a difference?

  • All children were supported through quality first teaching, which was reinforced by additional support in the classroom.
  • Daily and weekly interventions programmes were run, with assessments at both the beginning and end of the intervention.  Pupil progress and impact of the programme measured.  Weekly ‘intervention squad’ meetings between Teaching Assistants and Deputy Head.
  • Pupil progress discussed at termly meetings, with any areas for concern identified and support adapted as necessary.
  • Children involved in pupil progress meetings.
  • Children supported with both their academic learning and general well being.
